The WPPA'S 2020 Legislative Report Card & Election Endorsements

October 30, 2020

(MADISON, Wis.) – On October 30, the WPPA released its detailed assessment of state lawmakers and their treatment of law enforcement issues during the 2019-2020 legislative session. Prepared every two years, this report also shares how the candidates for the state legislature responded to a questionnaire that the WPPA sent to every campaign. The organization’s governing board used these measures to recognize lawmakers that demonstrated their support for law enforcement and to determine which candidates to endorse in the upcoming elections on November 3.

WPPA Legislators of the Year

In recognition for earning the highest legislative report card scores in the 2019-2020 session, André Jacque (R-DePere) and Van Wanggaard (R-Racine) were named the WPPA’s Legislators of the Year for the state senate, along with Cody Horlacher (R-Mukwonago) and Jimmy Anderson (D-Fitchburg) in the state assembly.
